		<description>our mission

ATELIER FLORESTANIA is an art-for-ecology initiative based in Vienna.&#38;nbsp;We use art to rebuild emotional, cultural, and ethical relationships between people and nature as a foundation for environmental care and circular action.


The word Florestania combines the Portuguese words for "forest" (floresta) and "belonging" or "citizenship" (cidadania). It was coined by Amazonian Indigenous activist Ailton Krenak in his book Ancestral Future, which calls on us to reforest the imagination as a path toward healing and protecting the Earth.
Workshops led by Fantoplast and Precious Plastic Vienna, alongside specialists on urban foraging, ancestral herbalism, and restorative ecology, offer space to reflect on our relationship with waste and urbanization, and reconnect with our inner landscapes.

Our upcycled plastic trees are sold to raise funds for forest care initiatives, locally and globally, transforming urban waste into new alliances with the land.
